Manidhamma is arranging a visit to UK especially to attend our next pilgrimage meeting on 29th October. This is a really good opportunity for you to ask questions in person. He will be booking flights for us while he is in UK as this is a cheaper way of doing it. I know some of you are getting a bit anxious that the flights are not yet booked but Manidhamma has good connections with the airline offices and agencies so he will be able to get a good deal for us. So it’s important we let Manidhamma take care of it as this is his profession.

So the deadline has passed now and we have a clearer idea of who will be going and their details. We will be continuing to meet at the end of each month and it is important that as many of us attend those meetings as possible so that we have a chance of getting to know eachother, share experiences, ideas and questions, build a kula. It is expected that you will pay the balance of the pilgrimage costs (£1100 total) by the end of November at the latest.

At our last meeting Lucy suggested that we do a bulk buy from Decathlon for things like sheet sleeping bags and mosquito nets. She said she’ll be happy to take orders and arrange that.

Pilgrimage Library

The deadline for making your deposits and deciding about whether or not you want to stay on in india after the pilgrimage is 31st July.

latest meeting

The pilgrimage group met together on 26th March. Rob started teaching the refuges and precepts in the Indian tune. He will record himself singing it soon. He will also take one meeting later in the year on teaching some basic Hindi to those who are interested. Rob also talked about his recent trip to Nagpur and raised the question as to whether the group wants to visit Nagpur at the end of the pilgrimage in order to meet members of the TBMSG and visit some projects there. He also introduced the blog and answered some general questions.
Dan gave a high tech presentation about Sravasti, explaining where it is in India, it’s significance and showed some photos of particular places there. Thanks Dan.
Vajratara will post the meeting dates for the rest of the year soon.

2011 Sheffield Pilgrimage blog launch !!

I am sitting next to Manidhamma in his lovely home in Nagpur eating chocolate cake !! What better occasion to launch our new blog for the 2011 pilgrimage. Anyone will be able to add articles, ask questions and make comments. We will send the username and password to you later by e-mail. I am in India until March 24th.
